ESOL at Fazl Mosque – Summer 2010
The successful Family ESOL course which has been running at Fazl Mosque came to an end last week with an end of year celebration. The course targeted Urdu-speaking mothers, aunts and grandmothers from St. Michael’s primary school as well as other Urdu-speakers from the local community.
St. Michael’s Chair of Governors, Pam Davies, presented certificates to the Urdu-speaking women for their commitment and development in learning English. The women thanked their tutor, Urszula Derylak, for all her help and support and also congratulated her on her forthcoming wedding.
Thank you to everyone at the Mosque for making us feel very welcome and for providing the space to run a class and a crèche at the same time. A special thank you to Safiyya Salam, Farina Qureshi and the reception office.
After being held at the mosque for 2 years, the course is moving to St. Michael’s school in September 2010. It will be held on Thursday afternoons from 12.30-3.30pm.
